An advanced chemical recycling process takes pre- and post-consumer waste and transforms it into brand-new nylon. This means that at the end of its life, as a single ingredient, ECONYL® regenerated nylon can be recollected and regenerated into brand-new nylon, maintaining 100% of its original qualities at every stage. The “Born R2R” Project by Aquafil Sets Sail

Choosing ECONYL® regenerated nylon helps meet strict maritime standards while benefiting from a responsible end-of-life solution. Aquafil, the producer of ECONYL® nylon, has launched the “Born R2R” project (Born Regenerated to be Regenerable) to engage manufacturers to co-design carpets for easy disassembly and recyclability. At the end of its life, the nylon part of the carpets can be brought back to the Aquafil facility in Ljubljana to be fully repurposed into new material, avoiding landfills altogether. Like-minded partnerships are the engine behind this initiative as we explore new ways to encourage more conscious choices in vessel design.
