Where the land meets the sea is a rugged, natural boundary of rich color and rippling textures. Milliken, the global commercial carpet tile manufacturer, was inspired to capture this vibrant yet relaxing aesthetic in their Coastline collection. The collection reflects the natural transitions of land and water – ocean waves, sandy beaches, grassy marshes, rocky cliffs – into carpets with subtle gradients that organically connect and flow.
The Coastline collection is constructed with ECONYL® yarn, which is made 100% from waste including carpet, fabric scraps, fishing nets and industrial plastic otherwise destined for our landfills. ECONYL® nylon can be regenerated an infinite number of times while maintaining the same quality and performance characteristics as petroleum-based nylon and offers up to a 90% reduction in global warming potential compared to nylon from fossil sources.
Milliken’s Coastline collection includes two distinct patterns – landscape and seascape – in six neutrals and 12 colors reflecting the variety of the coastline, from dunes and pampas grass to the Atlantic ocean and anemones. Each tile is 50cm x 50cm in size and constructed as tufted, textured loop. The modular system makes it easy to define spaces and incorporate wayfinding with various layouts to achieve your design vision.
Committed to creating a healthy future, Milliken ensures the ingredients they use provide beautiful aesthetics while protecting our planet. Milliken specified ECONYL® nylon to create an innovative collection that adds value to people’s lives, improves health and safety and contributes to building a sustainable world. Learn more.
