Earlier in the year, an R2R® carpet produced by our partner ege was featured at BRAFA Art Fair 2026, held in Brussels from 25 January to 1 February 2026, demonstrating how this design approach can adapt to different artistic and cultural contexts while maintaining a strong focus on material responsibility and end-of-life considerations.

The journey continues in February with the 76th Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale), taking place in Berlin from 12 to 22 February 2026. Through the long-standing collaboration with OBJECT CARPET, the Red Carpet in front of the Berlinale Palast once again becomes a high-visibility space where cinema, culture and innovative material and eco-design solutions intersect.
Following its debut at Berlinale 2024 and its presence in 2025, OBJECT CARPET’s DUO rug returns in 2026, highlighting how eco-design principles and material innovation can be integrated into demanding, high-profile environments.
R2R® program: the DUO carpet designed for disassembly
Developed within the R2R® program, the DUO carpet features a simplified material composition, combining polyester and ECONYL® regenerated nylon. The two components are bonded using a HOTMELT adhesive that dissolves when exposed to heat. This Click/Unclick Technology allows the carpet to be easily disassembled, enabling each material to be recycled separately and reintegrated into new production cycles without loss of quality.
Designing carpets with end-of-life in mind
Through the R2R® program, ECONYL® regenerated nylon supports a collaborative approach to carpet design, where material selection, product performance and end-of-life are considered from the very beginning, enabling solutions designed for regeneration and reintegration into future production cycles.
