First introduced in 2019 as an offering within the creative sphere of Prada, Prada Re-Nylon is created via a complex process of recycling and purifying discarded nylon collected globally, including textile fiber waste, plastic materials drawn from landfills and fishing nets made by Aquafil.
For 2026, the Prada Re-Nylon for SEA BEYOND Collection debuts a new five-piece capsule, comprising backpack, pouch, drawstring backpack, hooded jacket and hat.
Each item has been designed to maximize the use of recycled materials and to ensure that they can be recycled at the end of their life, when the Re-Nylon components become a new premium-grade ECONYL® yarn again through the Aquafil Regeneration plant.
Prada Re-Nylon is the result of a partnership between Prada and the Italian producer Aquafil, whose complex depolymerization and re-polymerization processes eliminate reliance on virgin resources.
This regenerated nylon yarn, ECONYL®, can itself be recycled endlessly, without any loss of quality, reducing the impact of nylon production on global warming.
