Fishing nets, fabric scraps, carpet flooring, and industrial plastic are collected from all corners of the world to be transformed. Once retrieved, the waste materials are carefully sorted and cleaned to recover all of the nylon possible.
An advanced chemical recycling process transforms the nylon waste into brand-new nylon.
Unlike traditional mechanical recycling processes, this method allows ECONYL® regenerated nylon to retain 100% of the qualities of new nylon, while achieving a lower carbon footprint than conventional oil-based nylon. Beyond reducing plastic pollution, ECONYL® regenerated nylon contributes to reducing CO₂ emissions compared to traditional oil-based nylon production.
For every 10,000 tons of ECONYL® caprolactam produced, an estimated equivalent of 70,000 barrels of crude oil is saved compared to traditional fossil-based caprolactam production.
